The computerized baby records care events and allows teacher to engage in a discussion with students about responsibilities of child care. The kit engages students in activities designed to help the student consider the time, financial commitment, and maturity required to be able to adequately care for a child. The Real Care Baby 3 supports a component of the compulsory practicum in Child Studies 11. It is also a valuable teaching resource in Child Studies 9. Real Care Baby 3 is rechargeable (no batteries). The Control Centre Software allows the five babies to be programmed wirelessly from the teacher's computer. Control Center software must be installed on a local computer, not on a network. The software also comes with a wireless communication adaptor, \"X-stick,\" which acts as an antenna between the teacher's computer and the babies. Each baby comes with a kit that includes: two diapers, one bottle, one student care card, one outfit, two IDs and five wristbands (breastfeeding devise no longer included). The 5-pack Real Care Baby 3 allows teachers to engage more students in the Practicum component of the Child Studies 11 course at one time. NOTE: The \"Nova Scotia Neighbourhood\" includes one Aboriginal female, one African Canadian female, one African Canadian male, one Caucasian female, and one Caucasian male.
